The World Teacher's day is on the fifth of October and celebrates teachers and the important role teachers play in society. This year Step by Step honored the teaching profession by organizing the event Speech4Teach - Inspiration for Education. The gathering of around 300 guests mainly teachers was at cinema Frosina in Skopje. Unfortunately, I missed the first part where speakers shared their inspiring stories and experience. However, I attended the educational workshops where remarkable teachers presented.
I truly enjoyed the workshop for preparing mathematical aids to engage and fully involve students for solving mathematical exercise. The presenter Marija offered such a great variety of teaching aids that would facilitate and improve mathematical skills for students. She impressed the participants showing them practically how logical thinking can be developed with use of mathematical dices, mathematical circle with numbers, puzzles, carpet and much more.
Then, there was Vesela, happy and cheerful as always talked about decorating the classroom for learning. The workshop offered useful strategies how to ornament and provided practical ideas to be implemented into literature's classes. Educators crowded around her willing to learn and grasp from her phenomenal teaching style.
Next to her was the English teacher Marija who introduced collection of manuals. Educators, parents have shared their experience as well as successful activities and the final result was a wealth of lesson plans for inspiration and hopefully future use. The contributed lesson plans and activities within the book serve as a positive practices for development of early literacy and math skills. Marija skillfully created the collection with ONe note and now all manuals are available through the link http://stepbystep.org.mk/mk/biblioteka.
Lastly, a workshop that offered tricks for illustrating booklets. Thank you for sharing your experience and for organizing this event to celebrate teacher's profession.
