Have you ever thought that you could convert everyday objects into ELT powerful aids. I have never believed that buying two pairs of big, peculiar sunglasses on my summer holiday in Greece can be improve communication skills and help my students practice and focus on specific grammar points. The lesson aims were practicing question words and my first idea was conducting  celebrity interviews into pairs.  Students were given time to prepare outside of class and simulate interview as a role play activity during the class. The excitement began when I offered them  pairs of glasses and microphone. Everyone eagerly wanted to participate and wear the hilarious sunglasses. I was surprised from the achieved interview scenario, the laugh and the relaxed atmosphere they contributed to. Practicing question words can be a challenge, but an ordinary objects like sunglasses can lead to such a joyful class with increased students' participation and at the same time practicing the language.
